Book Shop Adventures

There’s nothing I love more than wondering around book shops, (despite the endless lists of books I come away with that I want to read) and finding some new treasures to lose myself in!

There’s something about wondering between the shelves, scanning through the pages and the wonderful fresh feel of new books, oh I just love it!

One of my favourite book shops is the one in Salts Mill, Saltaire, which is a Victorian model village in Yorkshire.

It is found one of the floors in the mill, meaning the high ceilings are airy, spacious layout make it perfect places to have a wonder and get lost in the world of the books.

Whilst it isn’t the biggest book shop it has such a fantastic selection of books that I always come away with new authors or titles in my head. I think the charm would be ruined if it was jammed full of books, it works perfectly how it is!

Have you ever visited Saltaire and Salts Mill?

New beauty buys…

One thing I love is make-up, despite my makeup skills being seriously lacking, but hey, we don’t all need to be experts!

A transition I’m trying to make at the moment is to use only Cruelty-Free brands. At first I thought this would be pretty hard but after finding some great brands it is easier than I thought. A new personal favorite is ‘Bare Minerals’.

After my recent birthday I decided to treat myself to a few more of their products and so far I am very impressed!

What I love about Bare Minerals is their small sample sets, brilliant to try out their items before splashing out and buying the full product!

My buys, including some bonus freebies!

The first thing I bought is ‘Experience Bareskin Beauty’ which includes Bareskin Perfecting Veil, Perfecting Face Brush and Bareskin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20.

The foundation and brush work perfectly together and the foundation is so buildable so gives a nice full coverage, whilst still being breathable. It honestly feels like your skin is bare! As for the ‘Perfecting Veil’ I still haven’t made a verdict, I need to perfect the application as sometimes it comes out a little patchy!

I also bought the ‘bareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer’ and it is amazing! As someone who has permanent dark circles it works wonders!

Also, a final shout out to ‘JT Lloyds’ in Burnley where I bought these products. The staff were extremely friendly and I even received a bonus goodie bad with a free make up brush, powder and face wash samples – I will definitely be going back!

My First Blog Post…

Well hello there, and welcome to my little space on the internet! (Hopefully at least one person out there will be reading this!)

I have set up this Blog to talk about all the things I love, express my opinion on things and just a general place to comment on things!

I plan to talk about a range of topics from beauty to baking, and reading to travelling. I’ve included some pictures which might have a hint of what’s to come!

Let’s see how long I manage to keep this up for – welcome to the journey!
